Hello.  My name is Shirley Stull and I am the owner, operator and publisher of Fairmont Connections.com and Discover Mountaineer Country.com. 

I grew up on the East Side of Fairmont, WV and attended the State Street School and East Fairmont High School.  I moved to Mannington in 1985 and graduated from North Marion in 1986.  Having a love for Marion County I developed this site to give back to the community and assist in the growth of the region.  I have seen many changes over the years with Morgantown and Clarksburg growing rather quickly. 

When my daughter wanted to play soccer a few years ago, I tried to locate the information on how to sign her up.  When I finally found the information, it was too late.  This prompted me to try to come up with a way to fix that for the future and for other children.  I saw an ad in a magazine for a community website that you develop and run for your city.  This is how the site came about.  I debated on it for several months and on May 1st, 2008 I took the plunge.  I love this business and I love Marion County. 

I truly believe in the power of unity and working together to make things better for us all.  Marion County has so much potential for growth and expansion that I wanted to get involved in promoting it with my site. 

So who am I.  I am a mother of 2 wonderful children, married to the same man for 18 years even though we have been together for 28 and owned by 1 Boxer, 2 Persian Cats, 7 birds and 1 fish tank.  I am an avid fan of true crime stories and I enjoy television, music and movies.  I enjoy socializing with friends when I can and I am passionate about locating missing persons.  I work in the public sector as a Federal Employee and love my job.  As a member of Toastmasters, I have learned many great skills in leadership and public speaking.  I have served as the Seargeant at Arms, Secretary and am currently the VP of Education for both my club and the Area. 

Learning about self improvement and things like The Secret and career oriented lessons are something I work on daily.  I enjoy listening to podcasts and talk radio programs.  Dave Ramsey is one of my favorites.  I also like Dr Laura Berman and Dr Jenn Berman. 

My husband is a business owner in Mannington and has worked there for most of his life.  It belonged to his father who passed away last year so it is now run by him and his brother. 

I think that pretty much sums up about who I am and I hope this helps you to get to know me a little better.
